Metals

Metals are made of atoms arranged in regular and repeating patterns called crystal lattices. This is termed as ‘periodicity’.

Since these atoms are arranged in a highly ordered, periodic and 3-D manner, we refer to them as ‘crystalline’ materials.

Think of stacking crates one on top of another.
